Safety and Operation

Before you burn your house down...

First and foremost -Do not apply direct heat to the mash tun.

The insulation in the mash tun will eventually melt and leak through the foot pads if direct heat is applied and doing so will result in a fire.

We have already tested this so you don't have to.

(It was kind of awesome, not gonna lie.)

What's in the box!?

- Your new DBS Insulated Mash Tun.

- A lid for your DBS Insulated Mash Tun.

- Delta Brewing Systems wide face thermometer

- Stainless Three Piece Ball Valve

- Threaded Stainless Plug

Assembling your new DBS Mash Tun.

Assembling our Insulated Mash Tun is quite simple and requires nothing more than some time to clean the unit before each use and some thread sealing tape to ensure a watertight connection on your Thermometer and Ball Valve.

Using your favorite grease fighting dish soap or some of , give your mash tun a nice thorough wash to get rid of anything that might be left on your unit from production.  Also wash the False Bottom.

Once it's nice and clean, wrap some thread sealing tape around the threaded portions of your Three Piece Ball Valve and the DBS Thermometer.  (no need to go crazy with the tape, 4-5 times around is plenty of tape)

The plumber's tape will create a seal in the threads and you should be fine with the tighter end of Hand Tight.

Affix the black gasket to the false bottom and place it in the Mash Tun rest on the ring.

You now have an assembled Delta Brewing Systems Stainless Insulated Mash Tun that is ready to be filled with hot water.

Mashing Tips

- To ensure that your Mash Tun is up to temp when you add your Strike Water you can have previously added warm water to the Mash Tun to make sure it's nice n warm and not going to rob your water of the temperature you worked so hard to get it to.
